The Student Digital and AI Summit was a 1 day conference organised by the Digital Pioneers, a group of students dedicated to promoting responsible AI learning and practice at the Tiffin Girl’s School and within their broader community.
The morning began with a keynote speech from Professor Kate Devlin, Professor of AI & Society and current Chair of the Digital Futures Institute at King’s College London. Students then took part in an interactive black box activity, working to reverse engineer hidden AI logic and uncover the risks of ‘black box’ algorithmic systems.
After a short break, an online panel brought together four specialists applying AI diverse fields:
This was followed by a reinforcement learning challenge, where students navigated a ‘blind’ task to experience how AI agents learn through rewards and penalties.
During the lunchtime marketplace, students from the Digital Pioneers showcased their own AI and digital projects, creating a lively space for sharing ideas. The afternoon featured a presentation on deepfakes, a hands on robotics activity, and a session on AI bias.
The day concluded with group discussions, evaluations, and closing remarks, rounding off an engaging and immersive exploration of AI.
