Handbook
The Teach AI Literacy Handbook aims to support Scottish teachers in Broad General Education in upper primary and secondary school settings, to teach their learners about GenAI and how to use GenAI tools responsibly and effectively.
This was developed by Professor Judy Robertson (Chair in Digital Learning, University of Edinburgh) and colleagues as part of the RAi UK funded skills project AI in Secondary Schools: Resource Development and Teacher Professional Learning, and with support from representatives from the Scottish Government, Education Scotland, SQA, The Scottish AI Alliance, The Children’s Parliament, and BRAID/AHRC.
The handbook includes various resources and activities for learners, a ‘work in progress’ AI curriculum for Scotland and has been posted to every secondary school in Scotland (August 2025).
