About the event
The UKRI AI in Health & Social Care Symposium brought together the healthcare community to drive conversations about the current state of AI deployment and Responsible Research and Innovation within the rapidly changing field of AI in health and social care.
We addressed sector-specific challenges by bringing together leading professionals from physical and mental health, social care, social scientists, UKRI-funded projects, RAi UK researchers, industry representatives, and members of the RAi UK Health and Social Care Working Group.
Co-hosted by RAi UK and UKRI, this in-person event looked at existing use cases, identifying areas of greatest opportunity and need, exploring barriers to implementation, and assessing AI’s potential to address inequities.
RAi UK AI Champions initiative
We were thrilled to launch the RAi UK AI Champions initiative and introduce the first nominated AI Champions.
Led by RAi UK Health and Social Care Working Group, this initiative aims to foster a network of AI advocates who will drive the responsible development and adoption of AI technologies across the health and social care system. The RAi UK AI Champion role is particularly important as these individuals will combine frontline healthcare experience with AI expertise and play a vital role in helping to ensure that AI solutions are effective, relevant, and address real-world needs.
By empowering and supporting these champions, we aspire to accelerate innovation for improved patient outcomes and ensure AI technologies are implemented in a responsible and equitable manner for the benefit of all.
