RAi UK EPSRC mock panel training

  • calender 5 October 2026
  • clock 10:30 am - 3:30 pm GMT
  • location University of Southampton

RAI UK will be delivering a EPSRC Mock Panel training session on Monday 5 October and would like to invite expressions of interest from those who would like to take part as a member of the panel… learn what happens after you hit submit!

Joining the mock panel will give insight into how EPSRC funding decisions are made and the opportunity to see the assessment process from the panel’s perspective, including:

  • What panel members look for in a strong application
  • How strengths and weaknesses are weighted
  • Why seemingly good proposals can fall short
  • How funding recommendations are reached

The session is aimed at Lecturers/Assistant and Associate Professors affiliated with RAi UK, or working as part of one of RAi UK’s Keystone teams. Invitations have been sent, but please contact info@rai.ac.uk if you haven’t received an invitation but would be interested to attend.

This session will be run as close to an EPSRC panel as possible, with each panel member receiving 2-3 EPSRC proposals to read and score in advance and then introduce during the panel meeting. The panel will rank all proposals under consideration and make their funding recommendation to EPSRC, before the actual outcomes are revealed.
