This collaboration evaluates how ambient voice technologies (AVT) are implemented in NHS clinical settings and what organisational costs and benefits they generate. It exploits the opportunity coming out of an ongoing project enabling access to clinical data with ethical approvals already in place. Working with South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust and George Eliot Hospital, this project examines usability, workflow integration, documentation quality and the resource demands of deployment. The findings will provide robust methodological insights into how NHS organisations can assess, compare and govern AI-driven documentation tools, supporting responsible investment, workforce planning and sustainable AI adoption.
Key deliverables include a comparative implementation analysis, a documentation-quality dataset, a structured cost map, and a methodological guide for NHS organisations evaluating AI-enabled documentation tools.
Collaborating with University of Eastern Finland, South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust and George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust.
