Dr. Alfie Cameron

Secretary ECR Board

Alfie is a multidisciplinary academic at the University of Nottingham. Their research uses a feminist lens to critically query how technologies are developed, deployed, and experienced. In doing so, they seek to highlight and address key ethical questions around responsibility, accountability, and governance of technology. Entering Computer Science from a background in Human Geography, Alfie completed their multidisciplinary PhD investigating ethical and mutually beneficial personal data exchange in the context of museums at the University of Nottingham in 2022. After graduating, they worked with Horizon Digital Economy Research and Trustworthy Autonomous Systems to continue exploring the ethics of technology in museums, healthcare, the domestic sphere, and military applications. In 2024, Alfie helped to launch the Responsible Digital Futures research group, which brings together academic and industry professionals working towards responsible technologies. In June 2025, Alfie joined RAi as a Transitional Assistant Professor, where they continue to develop their passion and expertise in this domain.
