Maritime Autonomy Technology Lead, BMT
Dr Eshan Rajabally is Autonomy Technology Lead at maritime-orientated high-end design house and consultancy, BMT. Here he acts as expert and authority on autonomy enabling technologies, identifying and seeding related BMT consultancy and other service offerings. Eshan is a chartered engineer with over twenty years of experience in research and innovation, technology development, and demonstrator prototyping. Eshan spent his earlier career working with the military air division of BAE Systems where his interest was sparked in artificial intelligence, developing various expert systems ranging from multi-criteria acceptance of engineering models to evaluating aircrew performance in flight simulators. Moving to Rolls Royce, Eshan pioneered their road-mapping towards the vision for commercial uncrewed shipping and led the subsequent development of several supporting technologies. This resulted in field-leading prototype demonstrators in autonomous path planning, remote engine room monitoring, navigational situation awareness and intelligent platform management.
