Karen has over 18 years of research management and operations in surgery, cancer and healthcare technologies. Karen joined Digital Surgery, Medtronic over 6 years ago. As Research Director and now Product Development Director for AI and Analytics, she leads AI product development for the Touch SurgeryTM Ecosystem.
Previously, Karen was responsible for R&D projects, programmes and strategic initiatives, working closely with stakeholders from government, academia, the NHS, research networks and industry.
Prior to joining Digital Surgery, Karen contributed to generating more than £30M grant income at Imperial College London in the translational healthcare technology field. She completed her PhD in infectious diseases (2005) at the University of Edinburgh, UK.
