Purpose and Vision
The RAi UK International Ambassadors Council will serve as a platform for shared learning, dialogue, and action among world-leading voices in AI ethics, governance, and innovation. Members will work collectively to:

  • Coalesce an international community around shared principles for responsible and trustworthy AI.
  • Encourage and support global collaboration, sharing of best practices, and exchange of ideas across sectors and regions.
  • Spotlight cutting-edge research and education in responsible AI, ensuring that new knowledge reaches practitioners, policymakers, and the public.
  • Advise national governments and industry on how to achieve the greatest societal impact for responsible and trustworthy AI.
  • Identify gaps in the responsible AI landscape and provide pathways to address them.
  • Act as ambassadors within their countries and organisations to amplify the impact of RAi UK’s research, policy, and outreach initiatives.

Building a Global Network for Responsible AI
Through this initiative, RAi UK seeks to strengthen international ties and foster a thriving global ecosystem that prioritises ethical innovation and equitable access to AI benefits. The Ambassadors Council will act as a bridge between research, policy, and practice, sharing lessons learned and promoting mentorship across borders and disciplines.

“The launch of the RAi UK International Ambassadors Council marks an important step in our mission to build a globally connected, inclusive, and accountable AI future,” said Professor Dame Wendy Hall, chair of the Council and Regius Professor of Computer Science at the University of Southampton. “By bringing together leading voices from around the world, we aim to accelerate the exchange of knowledge and promote practices that make AI systems more transparent, fair, and beneficial to all.”

Priya Guha MBE, member IAC added: “As AI reshapes every facet of our global society, international collaboration grounded in trust, inclusion and shared purpose has never been more critical.  The RAI UK International Ambassadors Council brings together global expertise and diverse perspectives, and is a powerful step in ensuring the UK helps shape AI that works for everyone.”

Sana Khareghani, Deputy Chair IAC said: “I am so excited to be working alongside Dame Wendy Hall to bring together leading voices from across the globe on Responsible AI. There are many people working in this area and we want to shine a light on the work, research and momentum of this community. Responsible AI is not about one thing, it is all encompassing, end-to-end and requires the thoughts and participation of every single one of us!”
