RAi UK All-Hands Meeting 2027: Call for Contributions

Overview

Responsible Ai UK All-Hands Meeting (RAi-AHM) is our flagship annual event, providing an opportunity for everyone involved in the RAi programme to come together in person, connect, collaborate, share their work, and help shape the year ahead.

The RAi-AHM 2027 will take place at the Leonardo Royal Hotel Southampton Grand Harbour, Southampton, from 20–21 January 2027.  We invite students, researchers, and practitioners involved in RAi projects to submit contributions for presentation at RAi-AHM 2027 to showcase the research, innovation, and impact delivered across RAI.

We welcome contributions covering both previously published research and work in progress (see submission type below). We want to hear about research and its impact rather than descriptions or summaries of projects.

Themes

To help define a coherent programme, we have defined the following themes under which contributions can be submitted, but if your work fits under a different theme, please feel free to indicate this in your submission.

• AI Governance, Regulation, and Policy
• AI Safety, Assurance, and Evaluation
• AI for Health and Social Care
• AI in Law, Law Enforcement, and the Judicial System
• AI and Cybersecurity
• Human-AI collaboration
• Ethics, Fairness, and Social Impacts of AI
• Responsible AI Tools, Toolkits, and Technologies
• Emerging Challenges and Future Directions in Responsible AI

Submission tracks

We welcome submissions through the following tracks:

1. Published Research Track

This track provides an opportunity to showcase research that has already been peer-reviewed and published or accepted for publication at a conference or in a journal. Authors may submit the original published/accepted conference or journal paper for a presentation at the RAi-AHM 2027.

2. Work-in-Progress Track

This track is intended for ongoing research, emerging ideas, preliminary findings, or projects that are not yet ready for full publication. Authors should submit a short paper of up to two pages describing the motivation, research problem, approach, preliminary findings or expected contribution.

3. Impact Track

This track is a venue for showing the real-world impact of research carried out by RAi and the projects funded by it. Authors should submit a short paper of up to two pages describing the research, the stakeholders, and how it has influenced practice or addressed societal challenges.

4. Panels Track

This track is for suggested panels on specific topics, bringing a diversity of stakeholders to debate an emerging challenge in Responsible AI. Authors should submit a short paper of up to two pages describing the motivation for the panel, confirmed/potential contributors, and format.

Presentation formats

Accepted contributions may be given different presentation options depending on the number of contributions per theme and room availability.

Potential formats will include:

1. Short talks: 10-15 mins including questions for deep dives.
2. 1-minute Lightning Talk: Each accepted contribution will be given a one-minute lightning talk to provide a quick overview of the work, highlight its key message or contribution, and encourage further conversations during the poster or demo sessions.
3. Poster: Authors presenting a poster will be allocated space in the dedicated poster session. Presenters will be responsible for printing and bringing their own poster to the meeting.
4. Demo: Authors may showcase their work through a live demonstration in the dedicated demo area (make sure to select the demo option when submitting your contribution).

Important dates:

• Submission deadline – 15 October 2026
• Notification-of-acceptance date – 15 November 2026
• Camera-ready / final materials deadline – 15 December 2026

Overview of the Review Process:

Each submission will be reviewed by at least one member of the RAi community, and final choices for presentation slots and presentation format will be made by the Programme Chairs based on time availability and objectives of the programme.

By submitting to the RAi AHM 2027, you agree to provide a reviewing service back to the community. This will involve light-touch reviews mainly aimed at ensuring suitability for the AHM presentation categories.

Reviewers will not receive more than two submissions to review.
