Isabela is a New York State Bar-qualified lawyer, with an international legal background and expertise in public law, regulations and AI policy. Currently, she is a Postdoctorate Research Associate at King’s College London.
As part of her role, she is the principal investigator of the project “A Techno-Regulatory AI Sandbox: from hypothetical regulations to practice, and back”, which resulted from the International Sandpit hosted by RAi UK in partnership with CeRAI (India).
Before joining King’s, she worked as a policy analyst at Johns Hopkins University within the Office of the President. She holds a Master of Laws (LL.M) from Georgetown University (2023), graduating with honours. During this time, she was a research Assistant at the Center for AI and Digital Policy (Washington, DC).
Isabela also holds a Master’s in Law & Development from FGV DIREITO SP in Brazil (2022). Her thesis, ‘Reviewing the Interpretation of Article 37 of the Brazilian Federal Constitution: Legal Solutions on Human Resources Management for the Municipality of São Paulo’, underscores her dedication to empirical research and legal reform.
Previously, she worked as a lawyer and collaborated with the Brazilian Society of Public Law and the FGV Research Centre of Competition, Public Policy, Technology, and Innovation.
