
Krishnan is a globally recognized expert in digital transformation, with academic credentials from the Indian Institute of Technology and the University of Texas at Austin. With a PhD in
management science and information systems, his research spans e-commerce, information risk
management, and the responsible use of AI. A serial academic entrepreneur, he founded the
pioneering Master of Information Systems and Management program and co-launched the Decision Analytics and Systems (DAS) undergraduate minor. His programs have received national recognition, including selection by the US Army Futures Command and awards from INFORMS, underscoring his impact on analytics education and workforce development.
Over the past decade, Krishnan has raised nearly $100M for four research centers, including the Block Center for Technology and Society, which he currently directs. He advises international organizations such as the Asian Development Bank, serves on high-level policy boards including those chaired by the U.S. Comptroller General and the Governor of Pennsylvania, and was appointed in 2022 to the National AI Advisory Committee to
the U.S. President. A Fellow of both AAAS and INFORMS, and a member of the National Academy
of Public Administration, Krishnan is a leading voice at the intersection of technology, policy, and societal impact.
