
Yi Zeng is a Professor of AI from Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, serving as the Director of the International Research Center for AI Ethics and Governance, and the Director of Beijing Key Laboratory of Safe AI and Superalignment.
He is the founding Dean of Beijing Institute of AI Safety and Governance (Beijing-AISI), the founding Director of the Center for Long-term AI, and leads the AI for SDGs Cooperation Network. He is also a member of the United Nations High-Level Advisory Body on AI, an expert in the UNESCO Ad Hoc Expert Group on the Ethics of AI, an expert in the WHO Expert Group on Ethics and Governance of AI for Health, a board member of the National Governance Committee of Next Generation AI and a board member of the AI Ethics Sub-Committee of the National Science and Technology Ethics Committee in China, and a Co-Chair of the World Internet Conference Specialized Committee on AI.
His areas of interest include Brain and Mind-inspired AI, AI Ethics, Safety and Governance, and AI for Global Sustainable Development.
He has been listed as TIME 100 most influential people in AI (TIME 100/AI).
